It only took 1 year but I think they FINALLY made friends!!!

A Super Safari 1st Birthday for Wade

On August 22, 2009 our little boy turned 1 year old!!! With a lot of help from all sides of the family we threw his first birthday party on Saturday. Planning started when Wade was about 6 months old. I decided in the beginning that a Safari Themed party was the way I wanted to go! I found the cutest decorations and party favors that went along with the theme perfectly! Since it was going to be mid-August we planned to swim at the party as well, but who new that there would be a small rain storm at the end of summer! So with the exception of being stuck inside with 46 adults and 12 kiddos the party was a success! With help from ALL the grandparents and Aunts and Uncles the party went off without a hitch!!!

Who's birthday is exactly 1 week after Wade's!!!The oldest little kid there....Miss Lucy!And her little brother Mr. Car-ter (haha...flashback to "Welcome Back Carter"!!!!)Mr. Benjamen....who is all smiles!! Love it!Miss Catherine....her daddy makes some good beer!!!Miss Melinda....Her first birthday was last week!!(This picture wouldn't turn...oops!) Mimi and Papa were kind enough to get all the party decorations! Including these super cute hats (that were supposed to be given to the kids as the came in.....mommy forgot....oops!), party gift boxes, goodies for the boxes, beach balls in the shape of safari animals (that mommy forgot to hand out as people left....oops!), streamers, and much more!!! Thank You Mimi & Papa!!!!

There is a lot of "oops" in that paragraph.......oops!!!!!Here is Wade's GIANT cupcake and 12 special cupcakes for the kiddos! Thank you to Aunt Nesha for the yummy cupcakes!!!! As always they were good...all 4 that I had! :)This was the cupcake topper that Mimi and I made! It took like 3 hours and started a lot taller that what it ended up! A giraffe is supposed to have a neck ......right?Daddy gets to light the first and only candle!!! While Wade waits oh so patiently!!!The first bite.....the only bite!He is smiling from ear to ear with joy from the giant cupcake! Or maybe its the beginning of a sugar rush!!!Yummmm.....He wanted to share it with everyone..... Wade, but especially Mommy and Daddy want to thank everyone for sharing in his very special day! To all our friends and family that came to the party and to those who were there is spirit, we just want to thank you for being in Wade's life and taking the time to show him (even at 1 yr. old) what friends and family truly are!! A extra special thank you to Mimi & Papa for all your help with the party and everything that you do for us and Wade. We really appreciate it! Also to Nonna, you do so much for us and Wade anyways let alone what you did for his party, we cant thank you enough! And to Papa Sky and Mar Mar thank you for helping out with the food and water! But especially the chairs, they were a lifesaver!!! And last but not least to Aunt Nesha, Uncle Jason, and Aunt Laura, thank you all for helping with the cupcakes and food, but most of all the support you all give us is the best!! We love all of you so very much and are really glad you all are such a big part of Wade's life. His first birthday was great & it won't be forgotten!

Now it's time to start planning for Wade's 2ND Birthday!!!!!

CLICHE WARNING: Its hard to remember life before you brought so much energy and joy into our lives. We've waited for you our whole lives and you definately don't know the meaning of the word disappoint. Your Mother and I never thought or expected to have so much love for such a perfect little monster. I can't wait for all the exciting adventures to come.

The party is surely going to bring the house down. Mommy did invite like 65+ people. I had to cut her off at some point. I'm sure there will be lots of pictures and videos of cake mess to come. Stay Tuned!

UPDATED!! A Day At the Zoo & Some Trains Too!!!

Here is a post about our day at the Zoo and Travel Town last weekend with Danielle, Jason and Bryant. We all had a blast. Mommy can organize the pictures and post more later...She's already running a week late trying to get the party dialed in.
